We all have the power to construct intentional meaning from our experiences, shape our identities, create fulfilling relationships, and build affirming communities. However, external and internal barriers frequently inhibit access to our full agency.
I believe therapy should be a liberatory practice. Working within a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based framework, I aim to support you in identifying unhelpful patterns, expanding the possibilities of who you can be, and accessing tools to create a life in greater alignment with your goals and values.
The heart of the therapeutic process is the connection between therapist and client. I strive to create a space where you can be fully seen in a way that dismantles shame and builds resilience. As a queer, non-monogamous, neurodivergent parent, I am especially passionate about supporting folks who are attempting to intentionally construct anti-oppressive and healing relational structures and communities of care.
My approach...
I work with individuals, relational units, teens, and families with children. You will guide the therapeutic process: I will consistently elicit feedback and attempt thoughtful adjustments. As a systemic, relational therapist, I always consider social contexts, systemic factors, and attachment patterns.
I draw from various therapies including narrative, emotion-focused, solution-focused, collaborative-proactive solutions, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, structural family therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and somatic therapy. We'll work together to identify what feels right for you and which methods most effectively move you toward your goals.
Professional training & memberships...
I am currently completing my Master of Arts degree in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University Seattle, where I've received my Certificate in Sex Therapy. I hold a bachelor’s in psychology from the State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State and a BFA in theater from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT) and the Queer and Trans Advocacy Network (QTAN). I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I have been a peer sex educator and volunteered in crisis intervention. During my 20 years as a performing arts professional, I focused extensively on queer narratives, advocated on behalf of LGBTQIA2+ visibility in popular media, and collaborated with teens and college students on developing their unique artistic voices and creating original work.
