Life can be beautiful, unexpected, and at times, painful. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for support when you’re feeling overwhelmed by or stuck in the season you’re in. Whether you’re navigating new identities or roles, experiencing a rupture in life such as a relationship ending or grief and loss, going through life transitions, or feeling unsure of how to find a way forward, I’d love the opportunity to be alongside you as a supportive resource!
I specialize in helping people across a variety of age ranges reflect on their struggles and strengths and work towards grounding, confidence and wholeness in the midst of adjustments or more difficult chapters. From children to aging populations, each life stage is unique and comes with experiences that could benefit from having a therapist to process with. I especially love using expressive arts in therapy sessions to aid in the reflection and transformation journey.
My approach...
I bring my true self to therapy space while also meeting you where you’re at. My therapeutic approach centers an anti-oppression lens and I care deeply about providing brave space for you to feel welcome to bring your authentic self to our sessions, particularly QTBIPOC clients and those with marginalized identities. I practice from a relational cultural framework that honors your unique story and experiences and provides space for you to explore yourself and your relationships with others in your specific context. I offer expressive arts and somatic practices as pathways towards healing and restoration. Some folks may find using art, music, writing/story, sand tray, movement and exploring the mind-body connection creates opportunities for expression beyond words or relieves stress and stored up trauma in the body.
As a Taiwanese-Cantonese American, queer woman and child of immigrants and ancestral refugees, I can relate to those who also share intersectional and multi-layered identities. As someone who has had different seasons of grief and loss, I’m passionate about supporting those experiencing the roller coaster of “good” and “bad” days while reflecting on your connection to your loved ones. As part of my grief work, I specialize in providing care for those who have gone through pregnancy loss or fertility challenges. I’m in an interracial marriage and blended familia and draw upon that lived experience in my work with clients in cross-cultural relationships, going through divorce or navigating (step)parenting, particularly those raising gender queer and/or neurodivergent youth. I also have experience helping those who find meaning in spirituality or are deconstructing beliefs/recovering from religious abuse and harm.
Part of my own self-care is spending time with family, corgi pup and community. I enjoy exploring cities and nature, crafting, relaxing with a show, playing board games, traveling, baking and trying new foods!
