I believe that, when the conditions are right, we all have the capacity to grow and heal. Living in this world can be incredibly difficult, and it is normal and healthy to reach out for help. None of us can really do it all alone, and I want to be there to help you learn, process, and find balance in your life.
As a white person, I consider it essential to remain aware of my privileged position in society. Both in and out of the therapy room, I work to maintain a culturally humble perspective and awareness of the complex ways oppression works to obstruct healing for all of us.
I specialize in working with autistic and ADHDer adults, kink, and polyamory. I especially enjoy learning about my clients’ interests, whether it’s a hobby, a fandom, or a local community. I find that we draw strength and purpose from the things that bring us joy. I’m curious how you find meaning in your own life, and how I can help you find more room for fun and play, as well as healing. We need to remember what we’re healing for, after all!
My approach...
I work from a perspective that holds us both as experts. I am a trained and experienced therapist, and you have been living your life and making it work up until now. With your help, I can suggest changes, troubleshoot problems, and provide space to practice new skills. My goal is to demystify the process of therapy, so you can keep the work going outside of sessions.
I have training and experience in a variety of modalities and philosophies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Health at Every Size (HAES), and more. I operate from a trauma-informed lens, as I believe we all have had difficult experiences that shaped our habits and worldview. We will work together to find, witness, and tease apart the patterns you’ve internalized, so that you can have more freedom of choice in your daily life.
Professional training & memberships...
I hold a master’s degree in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology from Bastyr University, as well as a bachelor’s in Physics from University of Washington. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor in the state of Washington.
